Meet the team

Olivia (Livy) Daugherty is a first year convergent media and writing double major from Bradford, Ohio. She is a convergent journalist for The Wit. Along with her involvement with the Wit, she is apart of the cross country and track teams. Daugherty hopes to gain experience and build relationships with the Bluffton community. After graduation, she wants to be a journalist for a newspaper or a media organization.

Garrett Heitkamp is a sophomore accounting major from Jackson Center, Ohio. Hietkamp will serve as a convergent journalist with a focus on sports for The Witmarsum. Along with his involvement in the Wit, he is also a member of the men’s soccer team. He wishes to build relationships with the Bluffton University’s community and improve his ability to broadcast on the radio.

Grant Ingham is a junior convergent journalist with a focus on sports for The Witmarsum. From Lebanon, Ohio, Ingham is a double major in sports management and marketing as well as a member of the men’s soccer program. He wishes to learn more about media and gain experience on the radio from being a part of The Wit as well as building professional relationships. Ingham would like to work within professional sports upon graduating from Bluffton.

 

Aspyn Rafac is a first year alternative pathway Spanish Education and TESOL major from Indian Lake, Ohio. Alongside being a convergent journalist for The Wit, they are also involved in BraveSpace and Spanish tutoring. After graduation, they hope to join the Peace Corps and eventually go on to law school to work with human rights and immigration services.

 

 

Elizabeth Rockwell is a junior Business Administration and Communication major with a minor in music from St. Henry, Ohio. She is the social media manager and a convergent journalist for The Witmarsum. She is looking to foster more relationships on campus as she continues to write and interview students and staff on campus. After graduation, she hopes to work at a non-profit organization in the arts in public relations or event coordination.

Kai Smith is a senior pre-art therapy and social work major from Washington, D.C. As the program director for 96.1 The Wit, he aims to nurture strong connections between students, faculty and the Village of Bluffton through quality storytelling, diverse music and enriching conversation. His goal is to become an art therapist and found his own multimedia art therapy studio and gallery where he and other artists will strive to bring healing to anyone who seeks it.

Payton Stephens is a junior Writing major and Journalism minor from Lebanon, Ohio. She will serve as managing editor and a convergent journalist for The Wit. Stephens aspires to tell stories and give voices to those within the Bluffton community. After graduation, she wants to either be an author or journalist.
