About The Wit

Members of The Witmarsum’s 2019-20 staff meet to plan content. Clockwise from left: Kai Smith, Jakob Libecap, Nicole Centofanti, Nathan Heinze, Day’Vion Smith, Trent Mast, Sarah Heydinger, Patrick Spillman and Olivia Tennefoss.

The Witmarsum is a combination of the campus newspaper and radio station 96.1 FM WBWH at Bluffton (Ohio) University. The Witmarsum legacy goes back to 1913 when the Bluffton College Press Club published its first issue.

Students write, produce and manage The Wit’s content, which focuses on the Bluffton community, sports, people and campus activities. The base format for 96.1 The Wit is Indie and Alternative Rock.

Many of the students on staff for The Witmarsum are communication or convergent media majors, but this is not required. Students from all majors are invited to participate. Competitive paid positions are available and typically filled in April or May for the following academic year.
