BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University women’s soccer team dominated the second half en route to a convincing 6-0 victory over Ohio Christian on a hot and humid Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025. OCU slipped to 1-4 on the season, while the Beavers evened up their mark at 3-3 thanks to a second straight win.
Junior Morgan Jarvis (Powell/Dublin Scioto) gathered up the rebound and deposited into the back of the net for a quick 1-0 lead in minute 16. Ohio Christian had a pair of near misses that went off the crossbar late in the first period as the score remained 1-0 at the break.
The legs started to falter for the visitors early in the second half as the Beavers put up four scores in less than eight minutes. Sophomore Brysan Brewer (Middletown) buried her corner kick and Jarvis collected a sweet feed from Brewer, making it 3-0 at the 58:13 mark. Back-to-back Mya Vernon (Toledo/Central Catholic) tallies pushed the spread to 5-0 before senior Abbie Peters (Marion/Harding) capped it off with her first career goal in minute 77!
Freshman Madison Kutscher (Rossford), the reigning HCAC Player of the Week, picked up her second win in as many starts, turning away one OCU shot.
Brewer and Kate Stephens (Trenton/Edgewood) led the way with five and four shots, respectively. Jarvis and Vernon both hit paydirt twice on Wednesday afternoon.
The Beavers finished with a 31-4 edge in total shots and the home team forced all 11 corner kicks. Bluffton was whistled for two more fouls (5-3) in a very clean match.
Bluffton heads to Alma College for a matchup with the Scots from the MIAA on Saturday, Sept. 20. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
