Campus plagued by flooding

In the early morning of April 26, Bluffton students were greeted with an emergency alert text: “Major Flooding. Do not enter water.” After hours of sustained rainfall on Thursday, April 25, into Friday morning, the Riley Creek flooded, temporarily shutting down traffic between both sides of campus.

Students from Ropp Hall, Bren-Dell Hall and the Riley Court apartments were cautioned to walk along Bentley Road to access buildings on the other side of the Riley, and the front entrance of Shoker Science Building was temporarily closed.

The flood waters did not disrupt the final day of classes for the 2018-19 academic year.
