The start of Bluffton University Nutrition Association’s Pancake Party. The event was held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 31 in Bob’s Place.
BUNA president, Alexa Lammers (center) manages the fact sheets, which students had to fill out in order to receive their arts and lecture credit. “Our club does things in both the community and the university with food and healthy eating, so this event is where you get to learn about different healthy toppings and eat pancakes,” said Lammers.
Kayla McSwords, a member of BUNA, talks to fellow member, Emma Cobb, about the success of the night. “Our goal here was to get people away from parties on Halloween and to get Arts and Lecture credit and have a good time!”
Students had to go around to tables where BUNA members would explain the health benefits about different toppings so students could write down a fact on their sheet.
Brothers Alex and Ben Weaver fill out their fact sheets while students shuffle into the pancake line.
BUNA members Allie Stoepfel and Sarah Lemmon were in charge of cooking the pancakes, going through multiple batches of batter.
Not only was this a pancake party but also a Halloween party, students dressed up for the spooky night in all sorts of costumes. Pictured is Dan Gregg.
