BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University men’s golf team used a school-record individual performance from sophomore Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) to shoot a 308 at the Beaver Fall Classic on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025.

Gerber shot under par 71 on back-to-back days en route to a school-record 2-under 142, knocking four strokes off the school record formerly held by Hunter Jolliff! It was also good enough for 2nd place out of 48 golfers at the Bluffton Golf Club.

Fellow sophomore Drake Sommer (Montpelier) shot a career-low 74 on Sunday and coupled with his 78 on Saturday added up to a career-best 152 for 36 holes. Gavin Ferguson (Burbank/Norwayne) dropped 11 strokes off his first round, shooting a 78 on day two. He finished with a 167 for the tournament, while Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) went 74-86 for a 160.

Junior Carson Brubaker (Shelby) and senior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) paced the “B’ squad with two-day scores of 159 and 163, respectively.

Bluffton’s men will be off next weekend before traveling to Berea College for the HCAC Fall Preview on Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19.
