Meet the 2019-20 resident advisors

Neufeld Hall

First floor: Kirk Kauder, senior accounting and business administration major, third-year RA

Sports/Clubs: Student Investment Club, Brave Space Club and Ultimate Frisbee Club

He wanted to become an RA because when he was a freshmen he did not have an RA who was ever on their floor. He was very shy and introverted so he did not really try to talk to anyone. Kirk wants to make sure that incoming freshmen do not feel the same way he did.

He is most excited about stepping outside of his comfort zone again and moving to a different side of campus than has normally lived on. He is excited to meet his residents and work with a different group of students.

Sports/Clubs: Soccer, basketball and Social Work Club President

She wanted to become an RA to build a tight relationship in her Residence Hall and be a leader for others to reach out to.

She is most excited to build bonds in a new building.

Third floor: TJ Mills, senior psychology major, first-year RA

Sports/Clubs: Women’s Basketball, LRC Assistant, and Multicultural Affairs Secretary

She wanted to become an RA because she wanted people to feel welcomed and have a mentor where they feel comfortable making connections with. She really cares about her peers at Bluffton and wants them to have a great experience as well as being their role model.

She is most excited to hold floor events and get to know the people on her floor and make new friends!

Sports/Clubs: Football and Esports Club

He wanted to become an RA because his RA his freshman year inspired him because of his involvement on the floor and the ability to help people.

He is most excited about making another community and try to be involved with all of the residents on his floor. He thinks having a year under his belt will help him build relationships with some of his residents.

He wanted to be an RA because of how much his RAs helped him out his freshman year and he wanted to be able to help others.

He is most excited to meet new people and help others adjust to life at Bluffton.

He wanted to be an RA because he can make an impact on more people’s lives on campus.

He is most excited to plan floor events with Co-RA PJ Prunty.

She wanted to become an RA because her RA freshmen year helped her find her place on campus and wanted to be that resource to other students.

She is most excited to meet new residents who will be living on her floor.

She wanted to become an RA to interact with new people and take a leadership position with the ability to help others.

She is most excited to meet everyone who will be living on her floor and developing new friendships.

She wanted to become an RA to be a role model on campus and be a resource for freshman to look for guidance like she did.

She is most excited to interact with her staff for next year. She has known them for a while and is excited for all of them to give their residents an amazing year. She loves making door decorations and creating fun bulletin boards.

She is most excited to to have her own floor where she will have more first-year students to make an impact on.

He wanted to become an RA because he wanted to take on more of a leadership role on campus and promote a positive environment for everyone.

He is most excited to get to know the group of RAs next year and help out with Welcome Week and the Freshmen Olympics.

She wanted to become an RA to be more involved in the campus community. She also wanted to help first-year students begin their college experience.

She is most excited about meeting new people next year and planning floor events that interest everyone. Building community on her floor is one of her favorite roles as an RA.

He wanted to become an RA because he wants everyone to feel like Bluffton can be their home for the next four years.

He is most excited to create lasting relationships with new people. He is also excited to not only have his older sister on campus, but also his little brother here next year as well.

Sports/Clubs: Welcome Center Intern, Student Ambassador, Project HOME Mentor, Kit Guide

She wanted to become an RA to become more involved on campus. She enjoys working through Admissions and meeting new students and being a RA would give her a great opportunity to make better connections with students living on campus.

She is most excited to meet new people. She has not been on the other side of campus since the fall of her freshman year so she excited to create friendships with people she might not see as much on a regular basis.

She wanted to be an RA because she enjoys helping people and she wants to help others like her RA helped her.
She is most excited to meet new people and form new relationships with the residents on her floor.

He wanted to become an RA because he has lived in a dorm since he was fourteen and he knows what can make residence hall life really fun and really hard.

He is most excited to try some cool dorm games he has come across in his past.

He wanted to become an RA because his RA freshmen year helped him out a lot and he wants to do the same for other students.

He his most excited to meet new people. Bren-Dell is a new hall for him and he is excited to meet new people he has never really interacted with before.

She is most excited to help as many people as she can. She enjoys the personal connections she makes with her residents and see them grow throughout the year.

She is most excited to be on a new floor to give her an opportunity to meet new people and help them grow. She is excited to meet the new first years and show them how awesome it is to live in a residence hall.

He is most excited to transition from the resident halls to the apartments and learn the new ins and outs of being an RA in apartment-style living.
