LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Beavers traveled down to Louisville for the Great Lakes Regional meet on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025. The day was pushing 70 degrees after having snow on the ground Monday, but the Beavers were ready for it and took advantage of the moment.
The men set the tone with big-time races to start off the day. Senior Jarrod Roudebush (Coshocton) led the team one last time, pacing the squad with a time of 28:26, which was his second fastest time of the season. Junior Micah Dodson (Wooster/Central Christian) ran a massive PR, shaving 38 seconds from his previous PR running 30:42 on the day and breaking the 31-minute mark. Sophomore Malcolm Hudson (Villa Rica, GA) challenged for the most improvement on the day, shaving 37 seconds from just two weeks ago, crossing the line in 31:24 after just missing breaking 32 minutes a few weeks ago.
“The men’s really had a great day to cap off their season,” Head Coach Connor Gulick said on his thoughts on the men’s race, “They competed extremely well and just continued to put people behind them all throughout the last 4km. I’m extremely proud of this group and excited to see what they can do come track season!”
The women’s squad took off next and while they only saw one toe the line, she made the most of it as sophomore Sara Smith (Mansfield/Madison Comprehensive) completed her historic season, finishing 31st in the race and earning All-Region honors with a huge PR of 23:00, moving up to number 2 all-time just behind program legend Alexis Cash. She joined Cash as just the second female to earn this honor in school history.
“I’m incredibly proud of what Sara was able to accomplish. To see all the work that she has put in throughout this season and the grit she showed in this race was awesome to witness.” Coach Gulick said on Smith’s historic race. “She executed the race plan exactly and just worked her way up each time we saw her on the way to that top 35 spot.
The sky is going to be the limit in terms what she can do on the track this season.” It was a great day to be a Beaver and now the squads will take a much deserved two-week break before joining the rest of the track squad to prep for the indoor season.
