The first week of March is Spring Break for Bluffton students. For an entire week, students will have no classes. But what exactly do students plan to do with their time off?
“I’ll probably work a little more in the studio, working on my art projects,” said senior art major Mary Bias. “More cups, more mugs, bowls, whatever.”
Senior English major Obi Martin plans to go on a road trip to Pennsylvania, where his parents live. He also said he plans to write and read when he gets the chance.
“I’m planning to drive slowly… through a more southern route, because I’m sick and tired of the northern route following I-76,” said Martin.
Sophomore biology major and Albanian international student Veronika Stafa said she plans to visit her sister and nephew in Florida.
“[I’ll] probably go and try a lot of Albanian food, because there’s a lot of restaurants [in Florida] that have Albanian food,” said Stafa.
Stafa also said she plans to spend time with her host family.
“They have four kids, so I’ll play with the kids,” said Stafa. “We watch movies, we play board games, we play card games.”
First-year marketing and sport management major Miguel Ringer said he plans to simply enjoy the break.
“I’m just trying to get home, spend time with my family, friends and just party,” said Ringer.
Junior communication major Gabe Denecker said he plans to work and sleep over the break.
“I work at UPS, so I’m gonna be working,” said Denecker. “I have two big papers that I have that I need to get done and get started.”
Freshman music education major Kayden Cordell said he plans to spend time with his family, as well as attend a few show choir competitions.
“I have to get a dentist filling,” said Cordell.
Spring break is a different experience for everyone. Some students plan to get some work done, while some plan to do recreational activities instead. Regardless of one’s plans, a week off of classes will free up some time to pursue them.
