CINCINNATI — The Bluffton University Women’s Basketball (15-5, 10-3 HCAC) traveled to Cincinnati Jan. 31 and steamrolled past the Mount St. Joseph Loins (10-10, 6-7) with a score of 51 to 26.

Leading the charge for the Beavers were seniors Kaycee Rowe (Harrod/Allen East) and Abigail O’Donnell (Arcanum/Arcanum). Rowe finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, recording her tenth double-double of the season and fourth in a row while O’Donnell scored 10 points and tallied six boards.

Even with the massive win, Bluffton still struggled offensively. The first half Bluffton shot 26.7% (8-30) from the field and 10% (1-10) from the three-point line. The second half saw a little more improvement. From the field, Bluffton shot 40% (12-30) and from the three-point line, they shot 37.5% (3-8).

Bluffton’s defense was a key factor in their win. They forced MSJ to shoot atrocious from the field and forced 17 turnovers. The Lions shot 10-44 from the field for a shooting percentage of 22.7% and they went 0-15 from behind the arch.

The Beavers will have a tough match-up at home Saturday as they play host to the Fighting Engineers from Rose-Hulman (17-3, 13-0 HCAC)
