As we wrap up the fall semester, winter sports continue in full swing. The Spirit Committee is looking forward to next semester and having even more giveaways and contests at the games. It took us a while to build up and get to the point we are at.

When the semester began, there was one cheerleader on the cheer team and we knew we needed a group to be a part of increasing the spirit at games. We began with brainstorming themes for games and more giveaways to do. T-shirts have been one of the biggest hits, and we are hoping to be able to do more giveaways at athletic events. To do this, we need as much attendance and participation at the games.
Some of the themes we have done include a white out, a black out, a Christmas theme and jersey theme. These are just to name a few of the things we have done. For our giveaways, we have given out t-shirts and candy. One of the contests we did was having a Christmas spirit week to see who had spirit and would be invited to sit in the fan zone. The winner of this contest was able to choose three friends to sit in the fan zone and have their choice of a 12-pack of drinks and two large pizzas from the place of their choosing.

As we look towards the next semester, we are hoping to expand. The group is currently made up of six people, Searra Hough, Kelly Armentrout, Darius Boeke, Ezra Deitering, Kenny Schneider and myself.
