It’s the time of year when students and academic advisors meet because students may start registering for spring semester courses on Nov. 12.

Bluffton University Registrar Iris Neufeld said that seniors, students with 88 or more credit hours, will be allowed to start scheduling classes on Monday, Nov. 12. Juniors, or students who have at least 58 credit hours, may start scheduling classes on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Sophomores, or students with 27 credit hours, may start scheduling classes Wednesday, Nov. 14, and students with fewer than 27 credits hours may start scheduling classes on Thursday, Nov. 15.

Before registering for classes students must have an advising meeting with their academic advisors. The academic advisors are there to help students decide what courses to take and to make sure that students are on track to finishing their majors and minors within four years, Neufeld said. Once the student is done meeting with their advisor, their advisor will give them registration clearance so they can then register beginning on their designated day, depending on how many credit hours they have earned. Also, students must have a zero balance on their bills for school before they can register.

“I get up early so that I can get all the classes that I want before they fill up,” said Sarah Heydinger, a sophomore art education major. “I’m relieved when I register and get the classes that I want and need because stressing about classes is one thing that I don’t need to worry about.”

To register for your classes go to My.bluffton and log in with your email without the @bluffton.edu and your password. Click on the “Student” tab, then on the left-hand side click on the “Registration” tab. Search the course you are looking for and choose “add course.” Students can also drop courses from there as well. So, if a student decides that they would rather take a different course they can go in the same way and drop the course and add another one.

Students or faculty with questions or concerns about registration should contact the Registrar’s office on the second floor of College Hall.
