Seniors prepare for next steps

With the academic year over, seniors are preparing for the beginning of the next step of their lives. But what exactly are those students planning to do when they graduate, and after spending so much time at Bluffton, what are some of their most cherished memories of the university?

“I think I will miss the community and being on the track and cross-country team,” said

Taylor Aurand, a senior dietetics major. “Those people are like family to me, and I really had fun running with our new coaches that we had.”

Aurand also said that they are looking into dietetics internships, some of which include master’s programs. Aurand said if those internships fall through, they will get a diatech license, work as a diatech and reapply.

“I plan on getting a master’s degree in business administration,” Lauryn Foster Wheeler, a third year senior and business administration major. “I’m planning to stay here [at Bluffton], but I also looked at local colleges as well, like UNOH, Findlay, things like that.”

Wheeler said that if she does end up leaving, what she will miss most is her soccer

team, or as she described them, her “soccer family.”

“I have a summer internship lined up based out of Harrisonburg, Va.,” said Emily Griffioen, a senior graphic design major. “It’s with the Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions… After that, I’ve applied for a long-term job in Kansas, but we’ll see where that goes.”

Griffioen said she will most miss their friends and being able to attend classes.

However, she said she will not miss working on homework or studying for and taking

tests for those classes.

“I want to work,” said Chanhee Hwang, a senior

business administration and accounting major. “I wish to get a job relating to my majors, so I can learn more about my field.”

Like Aurand and Griffioen, Hwang says she will miss the people at Bluffton the most, including some of the professors.
