Bluffton horoscopes: Bringing in the fall semester

Aries:  Mercury in retrograde will affect interpersonal relationships for Aries this autumn. This is a good time to re-evaluate your expectations from those around you and whether or not your relationships and close friendships are really benefiting you. Certain relationships that are no longer benefiting you may come to an end this semester, so this is a great time to work on self care and your relationship with yourself. Making stable routines for self-care, studying, and extra-curriculars will be crucial to your well-being this year.

Important dates: Sept. 9, Sept. 23, Oct. 9, Oct. 10 and Nov. 5-6.

Taurus: Much like Aries, Mercury in retrograde brings a major turning point in your life. For this sign, “spring cleaning” comes two seasons early. If you haven’t already, this is a great time to clean out old files and papers from the last school year, make sure your dorm is kept clean and tidy, and “throw out” relationships that are no longer benefiting you and your mental health. An old significant other or friend may try coming back into your life this fall, but it’s important to stand your ground and turn away from people who don’t have your best interest at heart. It’s time for a new semester. That means new opportunities and new relationships! Don’t let the old hold you back from experiencing the new.

Important dates: Sept. 13-15, Oct. 11, Nov. 8 and Nov. 23.

Gemini: For Gemini, the fall retrograde is nothing to be scared of! Your creativity, drive, and talent will flourish this semester. You could potentially find yourself with a new muse that motivates you to consistently put out your best work. Professors will recognize how unstoppable you are this semester and you will leave classes feeling proud and accomplished! This semester would be the perfect time to take an art class or pick up a new musical instrument. Journaling could also be beneficial for you this year as well as anything that helps you to find an outlet for all the inspiration you will be finding.

Important dates: Sept. 16-18, Oct. 13-14 and Nov. 10-11.

Cancer: It seems like you might have been isolating yourself so far this semester. You might be struggling with a lot of homesickness or letting assignments and responsibilities pile up. It’s important that you get out this semester and spend time with friends, instead of spending all your time confined to your dorm. Attending club meetings or events this semester can help you overcome the new semester blues and enjoy your time at Bluffton to its fullest. Even attending a football game under the stadium lights can help get you out of your space and feel more relaxed.

Important dates: Sept. 9, Sept. 17, Sept. 19, Sept. 25, Oct. 17 and Nov. 12-13.

Leo: Mercury’s retrograde will occur in your third house of communication, which could cause many conflicts for this fall if you don’t take time to think through your choices before you speak or act on them. Being too reckless or impulsive this month could create a lot of chaos in your life. If you’ve been ghosting someone or putting off important tasks/assignments, this could come back to haunt you later down the road. It’s important to find balance this month so you don’t end up overwhelming both yourself and those around you.

Important dates: Sept. 10, Sept. 18, Sept. 21-22, Oct. 18-19 and Nov. 16.

Virgo: Mercury is the ruling planet of Virgo, and therefore its retrograde is crucial to this sign. This month will challenge your confidence and self- esteem. It’s important to push yourself out of your comfort zone this semester so that you can continue to recognize all the beautiful growth you’ve made since the last academic year. Don’t step down from challenges that come your way both in and out of classes, because overcoming these challenges will be key to boosting your confidence this year.

Important dates: Sept 23.-25, Oct. 21-22 and Nov. 17-18.

Libra: Mercury’s retrograde takes place in Libra this autumn, and it won’t go unnoticed! You’re going to be the main character of this semester — once you realize just who that is. You might find yourself questioning your identity a lot this semester on multiple levels. This could be gender identity, sexual orientation, your major, or even things as simple as what you want and need from your relationships with others. If you’re struggling with your major this semester, now would be a great time to meet with your academic advisor to give you plenty of time to map out what you want to do before spring registration. You’ll know when it’s time to make a change when you see signs all throughout your life and even in your dreams. Don’t be scared of this change; embrace it! Follow your heart and do what’s best for you.

Important dates: Sept. 10, Sept. 26-27, Oct. 23-24, Oct. 31 and Nov. 21.

Scorpio:  There are not one but two new moons in Scorpio this fall, meaning this is a time of introspection and reflection. You may find yourself facing severe burn-out towards the middle of the semester. You may find yourself surrounded by social groups that are emotionally draining or do not have a positive impact on your mental health. While you might care about these people, it’s important to take social breaks for your mental health this fall. Make sure you’re scheduling “me time” and when you do go out, spend time with people who fill up your energy rather than deplete it.

Important dates: Sept. 28-29, Oct. 24-26 and Nov. 22-23.

Sagittarius: This fall will bring a time for you to let things go and heal. Things last semester may have left off on a bad foot for you, especially regarding you and your relationships. Your autumn horoscope tells you to move on from any drama you had in your life last year and focus on your inner peace this semester. If things are tense between you and any old friends, this is the time to communicate these things with them and start fresh. You will learn a lot about teamwork and compromise this semester. If you are an athlete, expect to really connect to and feel closer to your teammates this semester. After all, you may be able to learn from each other and bring one another closer to success.

Important dates: Sept. 30, Oct. 1, Oct. 27-29 and Nov. 24-25.

Capricorn: Mercury retrogrades into your ninth house this semester, which may leave you feeling stuck and unmotivated. This is because it’s time for you to make changes in your life and move out of your comfort zone. Your regular routine may no longer benefit your growth as an individual, so it’s time to switch things up! This would be a good time to get outside and walk the nature preserve, join a new sport or extracurricular activity, or sign up for a class that challenges you. If you’re feeling “stuck” in your academic career, consider exploring other options for your major or even the possibility of adding a new minor.

Important dates: Sept. 23, Oct. 2-3, Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 26-27.

Aquarius: This semester will be all about financial stability for Aquarius. You might find yourself in trouble due to reckless spending. This is a good time to set up a monthly budget for yourself to keep your money in order. You might find yourself going to the business office if you are confused about your tuition payments. Or, you could find yourself seeking out employment opportunities if you are struggling financially or are unhappy with your current spending habits.

Important dates: Sept. 9, Oct. 4-6, Oct. 31, Nov. 1- 2 and Nov. 29.

Pisces:  Your personal health should be a top priority for you this fall. You may be taking on too much this semester and overworking yourself. If you feel you are under too much stress, it might be a good idea to step down from a couple of things. Make sure you have time for yourself and aren’t neglecting your meals, sleep schedule, or personal self-care. Mercury’s retrograde may also impact your interpersonal relationships. If you have been isolating yourself from friends and loved ones, take time to open up to people and let them know how you’ve been feeling. Finding strength in vulnerability is a major life lesson for you this year.

Important dates: Sept. 9-10, Oct. 7-8, Nov. 3-4 and Nov. 30.
