Dorm room dining: Pillsbury ham and cheese pinwheels

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes

Serves: 10-12

Ingredients

2 tubes of Pillsbury Crescents

2 packages of thin-sliced Honey Ham

2 spoonfuls of Miracle Whip or mayonnaise

2 spoonfuls of ketchup

2 spoonfuls of Worcestershire Sauce

2 tablespoons of salted butter (melted)

1 spoonful of dijon or regular mustard

2 spoonfuls of brown sugar

Garlic powder, pepper, and salt

1 bag of shredded cheese

Materials

Cooking spray

12x9in baking dish

Bowl for mixing and microwaving

Spoon for mixing and measuring

Microwave

Knife for cutting the rolls

Hot pads to remove the dish after it gets done baking

Recipe

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray the baking dish with cooking spray.

In the bowl for mixing, place 2 tablespoons of butter and then microwave for 20-25 seconds or until the butter is melted.

After the butter has melted, add the miracle whip or mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, dijon or regular yellow mustard, brown sugar and the desired amounts of garlic powder, salt and pepper into the bowl.

Mix until all the ingredients are combined to make the sauce and set the bowl aside.

Following the directions to open the Pillsbury crescents, roll out the dough so that the pieces stay together to form the rectangle then pinch together the areas that you would normally tear so that the dough is one rectangular piece. Do this for both tubes of dough.

After making sure there are no holes left in the dough, using a spoon, scoop the sauce mixture and spread it on the dough. Make sure to keep at least half of the sauce to use again.

After spreading the sauce around the dough, take the thin slices of ham and line one layer of them on top of the dough. Then scoop the remaining amount of sauce and spread over the ham slices.

Take the shredded cheese and split the amount in half for each piece of dough. Sprinkle over the ham so that it covers completely.

Now roll the dough over as if you are rolling up cinnamon roll dough to create a pinwheel.

Using the knife, cut about 1 ½ to 2 inch thick pinwheels and place them in the baking dish so that the spiral side is up. Finish lining the pan with all of the pinwheels.

Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until the pinwheels look golden brown and the dough is fully cooked. The dough may stay a little soft because of the sauce.

Once they are finished baking, remove from the oven and enjoy!
