Opinion

Editor: I want to hear from you

As the summer heat begins to fade, the voices of The Witmarsum return, signaling the start of another school year at Bluffton University.

With the act of putting on a mask still being part of our daily routines, it can easily become difficult to stay connected with others. This year, I want to see The Witmarsum be a source of connection between all of us, making The Wit more visible and known to all students, staff and faculty.

The Wit is a little bit different each year, building off of previous years while welcoming new voices with open arms. Although, with these new voices we still strive to produce the best content possible. The previous years act like a foundation, a starting point to produce quality content each week.

This year I want to hear more from our students, staff and faculty. The Wit thrives on opinions, interviews and quotes from readers, so I want to take in more of that. This year, while still masked up, The Wit will host events with giveaways and feature some of the other student organizations on campus. With the level of visibility increasing with our readers and listeners on 96.1 The Wit FM, our content can be aimed to the community even more so than before.

My overall goal is to improve upon past years and produce content for everyone to enjoy. Whether you enjoy reading about academics, student life, or listening to live radio, getting sports updates on the campus teams, or even viewing photography or videography, The Wit has content for you.

We want to hear from you. So, keep that mask on—hopefully for only a little while longer—and tell us what you want to read about or listen to.

With your voices in toe, I look forward to what The Wit has in store for this year.
