Fall 2022 Playlist

November is here and as the crisp fall weather creeps upon us, you may want a playlist to fit the vibe of November. Below are some suggestions for when you want to enjoy the cold weather, best paired with a latte and an oversized sweater.

Stick Season – Noah Kahan

“Stick Season” is the perfect song for a fall playlist. The lead single off of Kahan’s third album, the song describes heart break and sadness during the hardest season—the transition between fall and winter.

Favorite lyric: And I’ll dream each night of some version of you
That I might not have, but I did not lose.

Anyone Else But You – The Moldy Peaches

Made popular by the 2007 film Juno, the indie track’s charm comes from its witty lyrics, describing a relationship between the two singers. Using pop culture references mixed with humor, The Moldy Peaches and the Juno soundtrack are ideal for fall.

Favorite lyric: The pebbles forgive me, the trees forgive me
So why can’t you forgive me?
I don’t see what anyone can see, in anyone else
But you.

Waltz #2 (XO)  – Elliott Smith

“Waltz #2” is one of Smith’s most popular tracks. The song describes how he felt towards his stepfather and while the lyrics are sad, the song’s mellow beat pairs well with the falling leaves of autumn.

Favorite lyric: I’m never gonna know you now
But I’m gonna love you anyhow.

If You Know That I’m Lonely – FUR

If you are a fan of 1960s Brit-Pop, you are now a fan of FUR. “If You Know That I’m Lonely” draws inspiration from groups like the Beatles with a modern twist. The results are perfect for fall.

Favorite Lyric: In my mind I see what I wanna see and if it goes wrong
I think I’ll never be the same, but I know it’s only make believe.

Acolyte – Slaughter Beach, Dog

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87hU5IplaX4

“Acolyte” is a love song telling the story of a young couple and their commitment to each other. Written by front man Jake Ewald, “Acolyte” is a great representation of the type of band Slaughter Beach, Dog is – a group wonderful for the fall.

Favorite Lyric: Man, it cuts like a dull knife
When you’re young and you’re told
“Makes sense when you’re older”
Darling, let’s get old.
